About the show
Working show title: TBD (use "Boring History Podcast" as placeholder). The name in the header is the showName value in src/site.config.ts.
Show bible
- Tone: dry, exhaustive, gently comic "boring history". Precise sentences, one quiet aside per beat, no hype, no host memoir.
- Length: 35–45 min spoken (~5,000–6,500 words).
- Segment template: cold open (~400–600 words: hook + the wrong popular story) -> Act 1 / Act 2 / Act 3 (~1,400–1,800 words each; claim -> evidence/constraints -> open question) -> outro (~200–300 words) that locks the next episode's question.
- Always label speculation vs established science where it matters. Never invent citations; sources come only from Research packs.
- Pipeline: Producer outline -> Research source pack (claims tagged CONFIDENT / DISPUTED / MYTH-ADJACENT) -> Script drafts cold open then acts -> Aaron review. No hosting, RSS, or social until Aaron greenlights.
